Start Smart/Parking Permits

The California Highway Patrol's Start Smart program is a driver safety education class which targets new and future licensed teenage drivers between the age of 15-20. S.D.U.H.S.D. Board Policy requires that every high school student wishing to receive an on campus parking permit must have completed the CHP Start Smart course with a parent or legal guardian. The course is two hours long and is free to all SDUHSD students. Students and a parent/guardian must attend together. Please see the Start Smart calendar for times and locations for the entire year. Space is limited so please sign up as soon as possible by clicking the "Full Start Smart Schedule" link below!
After taking the Start Smart Class, students may obtain a Parking Permit by completing the Parking Permit Application form, and then checking in with the Finance Office for further instructions.
